Writer one-sheets
A one-page introduction to a writer, with their photo, bio and best credits, and a QR code that opens a sampler of their songs. Print it or save it as a PDF.
A one-sheet is the page you hand an A&R when you're pitching a writer rather than a song. Catalyst builds it from what's already on the writer's page, so it's ready in a minute and stays current.
Make a one-sheet#
- Step 1: Open the writer and choose ⋯ → One-sheet.
- Step 2: Check the header: your workspace logo, the writer's photo, name and Blurb. Edit the photo and blurb on the writer's page if they need work.
- Step 3: Check the credits. Catalyst picks them for you (see below); open Songs on the one-sheet to pick and order up to 24 yourself.
- Step 4: Add a sampler (below) so the page has something to listen to.
- Step 5: Choose Download PDF. Your browser's print dialog opens: pick Save as PDF, or print it.
The page is laid out for a single A4 or Letter sheet with about a dozen credits, and looks like paper even if you use Catalyst in dark mode. “powered by Group Projects” sits in the footer.
Which songs are listed#
Until you choose, the sheet lists the writer's released songs first, then cut songs, then their newest songs that have audio, then the rest. Once you choose songs yourself, the sheet keeps your list and order. Choose automatically in the same dialog goes back to Catalyst's pick.
The sampler and QR code#
Create sampler makes a playlist of the sheet's songs that have audio (each song's primary version, in the sheet's order) and a share link to it. The link appears on the sheet as a QR code and a short line, “Listen to the sampler”.
- The sampler link shows writer names. It expires after 90 days unless you choose another expiry, and listeners can't download the audio unless you turn on Let listeners download the audio.
- Changed the songs? Update songs brings the sampler back in line with the sheet. The link stays the same.
- Create new link gives you a fresh link, for example after the old one expired. Catalyst never revokes sampler links on its own, because printed QR codes need to keep working.
- The sampler is an ordinary playlist and share link, so its views and plays are counted like any other. See Playlists & share links.
